I had no idea that security related changes I’ve been making were not being inherited by the blog’s installation directory.

It’s a huge oversight on my part!  I’ve since made corrections and hopefully this’ll mitigate some of the bad behavior I’ve been seeing.

What alerted me to his fact was that a bot from picsearch.com had crawled my site early this morning looking for images and it had triggered over 170 errors (404s).

Recent configuration changes should have stopped the bot from being able to access the site at all, yet it rampaged through the blog unhindered.

Adding extra security can have unintended side effects so if anything on the blog breaks, please let me know via the Contact Me form.  Thanks!
