Yeah, silly Engrish name but cool trailer!
I played Armored Core on the PS1 years ago and I liked it. I tried the Armored Core 4 demo on the Xbox 360 and found it a little too difficult.
What one reviewer said was dead on. The designers need to find a balance between laughably easy and excruciatingly hard.
I’ve seen some game play trailers on YouTube and while the combat looks fun and very fast-paced, I might have to keep looking for a decent mecha combat game to get into.

Very cool trailer. I also hate games that don’t have a good gradation in terms of difficulty. I remember X-Com way back when, playing easy. First few missions, no problem then wham… What the… I couldn’t win a battle for the life of me.
One reviewer wrote that the fun in AC:A is in customizing the mecha and controlling it. To me, that seems like the game designer for AC:A is missing the forest for the trees. Still, the combat did look fun.
Here’s some game play video where the player takes on that huge walking fortress mecha thing.
Just seems like there’s some real potential lost when there isn’t a better framework (i.e. characters, plot etc) to support the game play.
