100th Kill in RvR

I reached an historic moment in Warhammer: Age of Reckoning last night.  The picture above shows the body of my 100th player kill in realm vs realm combat.  The image above depicts the unfortunate victim that was dispatched by Torryn, my Witch Hunter character.

Destruction player falls to his doom.

I was doing so well last night, I actually chased a Destruction player to his doom!

At right is a top-down shot of Torryn peering down from atop a cliff at a Destruction player she literally chased to his death.  After she did some severe damage, the Destruction player tried to make a run for it.

Being so close to the Destruction camp and probably thinking he had enough health to survive the fall, he jumped from the cliff to make his escape.  It didn’t end well.

It’s too bad recording game footage using software takes up so much system resources.  This was hilarious to watch!

Unfortunately, last night was also my 100th death in realm vs. realm combat in Warhammer: Age of Reckoning.  No, I didn’t keep a screenshot of that… :-P

Last night was both a fun and frustrating W:AR experience as Order is again thrown into disorder by the highly organized and numerically superior side of Destruction.

The night started off great!  I was wreaking a bit of havoc on Destruction, even managing to chain kill quite a few opponents.  But then more Destruction players logged in, they became better organized and things went downhill quickly from there.

Stupid Order Players

The Order players on the Bretonnia server again proved to be selfish morons— especially the healers.  I had cut my way through enemy lines to take care of some of the Destruction magic users and then started my retreat back to our lines.

I started taking heavy damage and was already in our lines when I was struck down despite there being several Warrior Priests right in front of me.  I could see them as I approached and they were just standing there, no one was casting any magic.  Not ONE of them did a thing to help me (or anyone else) and I was cut down.

When I play my Warrior Priest, I actually look for players in trouble.  It’s not rocket science.  Look for the low health bars over players and if you can’t see them, just look for the player that’s taking a pounding or trying to make a run for it..  It’s not a difficult thing to spot even in a hectic battle.

And even if you can’t spot specific players, Warrior Priests only take about 3 seconds to recharge their Righteous Fury, so just spam the heal spells on the guys at the front of the line.

I’ve been complimented in RvR sessions for my brink-of-death healing.  By keeping my teammates in the fight, that means there are always Order warriors on hand to defend the area because they don’t have to run all the way back to the front lines from the respawn points.

I may just look for a new server other than Bretonnia because it’s been my experience that except for rare occasion, the Order players are unable to look past the ends of their noses.

Unfortunately, I’ve invested so much time on the characters I’ve set up on Bretonnia, I might just stick it out since characters aren’t portable from server to server in W:AR.

By contrast, the overwhelming majority of the time, the Destruction players I’ve encountered there were highly organized and worked as a team.

On A Positive Note

All hope is not completely lost.  There are still some good players to be found on Bretonnia and I’ve had some of my best sessions there.

If RvR becomes too frustrating as a Witch Hunter, a character class that absolutely needs a teamwork to survive, then I can always just concentrate on the quests, create talismans using my Warrior Priest, and stick to just healing people.

And I managed to attain about 40 kills that night and also gained two reknown ranks so that’s something at least…
