Dean Takahashi wrote a detailed account of the dreaded XBox 360 ‘Red Ring of Doom’ fiasco that ended up costing Microsoft $1.15 billion in warranty replacements/repairs and severely strained its relations with its customers. wTwNjzVFVU
The article entitled, “Xbox 360 defects: an inside history of Microsoft’s video game console woes” details how Microsoft ignored all the red flags, some which were being waved early on by experienced engineers as well as testing staff members like Robert Delaware— who, incidentally, was recently sacked by Microsoft specifically for his comments made to Dean Takahashi.
“I don’t regret it. I’ll fight it. If they want to come after me, bring it on.” stated Delaware.
When asked about the details of his firing being made public, Delaware responded, “Rock and roll. It feels good. It was the moral thing to do.”
Delaware will most likely face a civil suit over the breach of the non-disclosure agreement he signed with Microsoft.
