Nasty Trees

I haven’t been up to much in the last few days so things have been a little slow with the blog.

The neighbor dropped by while I was mowing the lawn and requested we cut down more of the smaller trees that have sprung up between our property.

My bad!  I let the trees get out of control and now they are literally a pain to deal with.   The trunks and branches are studded with some really nasty thorns (some are as long as an inch!) which slows down the work tremendously since you always have to watch what, and where you’re grabbing branches and such.

You definitely do NOT want to get smacked in the face with these thorny branches!  If I have time, I’ll take some pics so you can see what I have to deal with. :-P

It looks like I’ll need more equipment to maintain these trees so I think I’ll be getting an electric pole saw.

It’s just like me to procrastinate.  Now it’s mid-summer and the weather is hot and humid.  Perfect time to do this kind of hard manual labour. :-P

I’m happy to have my sister’s help but the job won’t be completed while she’s here— and I don’t want her to use up any of her time here for something I should have been taking care of since Spring.

If I work steadily for an entire week, I should get the eastern side of the property done.

Anime Marathons

My sister recently got into Inu-Yasha , so we’ve been marathoning.   That’s right, all 164 episodes plus the Inu-Yasha movies. :-P  She also brought along a tonne of Naruto and Naruto: Shippudden.

I’m not a Naruto fan by any stretch but it seems to have something going for it since it’s so popular and it managed to pull my sister in.  I figure I should at least check it out.

As for other series, I’ve sort of lost track of what I’ve been watching and have fallen behind on a number of series.     I realize that I’ll miss out on the full viewing enjoyment but I think I might just read episode synopsis right up until the most current episodes and go on from there.

I really shouldn’t spend any more time on anime marathons because there are a tonne of things I really have to do that are much more important.  I’ll just have to be satisfied with getting up to speed as quickly as possible and enjoying the remainder of each series.
