FireFox 3
Took the plunge and upgraded to Firefox 3 this morning. It went smoothly, which was a bit of a surprise. I was expecting a tonne of broken add-ons. Only a few non-essential ones were incompatible but the ones I rely on the most work just fine.
My blog has a complex lay-out with doo-hickeys and doo-dads all over the place and I’ve seen some significant page rendering speed improvements with it under Firefox 3.
Three Column Lay-out
I’ve decided to adopt a 3-column lay-out to make it easier to view the menus without excessive vertical scrolling. Having a narrower content column also has the benefit of making the blog a little easier to read on devices like the iPod touch— granted, I’m probably the only person in the world who accesses the site occasionally in that manner.
Stickam
I haven’t been current on the various Internet communities and social networks sprouting up all over the place, primarily because I have no social life. X-D Yesterday, I discovered Stickam which is a social networking site with an emphasis on live streaming media.
I haven’t explored most of what Stickam has to offer. I’ve been primarily listening to/watching the Leo Laporte: The Tech Guy show on Stickam.
