UPDATED: The last few weeks have been sort of blah for me… I’ve been feeling quite drained and completely uninspired. WALL-E has helped bring back some of the spark but I need to keep pushing.

I might go on a theater marathon tomorrow to keep the fires lit… WALL-E at noon, Hellboy 2 in the afternoon. Haven’t decided if I’ll actually go. I’m not in the mood to deal with annoying theater goers and the last two or so days, I’ve been quite short on patience— more so than normal.

I’ve gotta start trying to paint again, do creative stuff outside of the computer for once. I discovered the local Zellers has a good assortment of knitting needles. No, I’m not taking up knitting. :-P I need them to create custom tools for polymer clay sculpting.

I find Katherine Dewey’s book “Creating Lifelike Figures in Polymer Clay” particularly good. Lots of colour photos and simple explanations of practical concepts; her system for figuring out exactly how much clay you need for figures of a certain scale is particularly useful in reducing waste. Hopefully I’ll be able to make something not entirely hideous in the coming days.

This hot weather isn’t helping, although I’ve managed to get the A/C installed but without the custom frame I’ve planned to build. However, now that it’s place, it’ll make the job of designing and measuring the frame easier.

The property needs a massive amount of yard work. The job’s overwhelming as it is and this heat isn’t going to make it any easier.

We got our new garbage bins the other day, the ones we get from the City and have to pay annually for. The bin we got is considerably smaller than our recycling bin. I think it’ll just barely be adequate for our weekly garbage output but I think we can forget about getting rid of extra waste items that way.

It looks like I might have to end up taking junk to the waste depots in the car. Not looking forward to that at all… Or I could try cutting everything up into tiny pieces. :-P

I’ve begun trying to get complete runs of the anime series I had started watching but had lost interest in along the way— series like Persona, Pumpkin Scissors, Bakumatsu Kikanetsu Irohanhoheto (that’s a mouthful!).

I’m downloading whatever episodes I can find and filling up stacks of DVD to free up some drive space.

Anyway…

Check out this really cool optical trick!
