I was browsing the blogs that covered the recent Winter Wonderfest 2006 in Japan.??There’s just so many cool things to see there!? This 1/6th scale Starship Troopers powered armour?looks amazing!? ?That thing’s huge compared to the tiny 4″ version I purchased a while ago.
?
I’m a sucker for sexy kunnoichi and they certainly had some on exhibition.?? Tanden Twin offered this female ninja figure kit back at Wonderfest 2004 but?this time she?was being exhibited under the Yamato banner.? This might mean she may be mass produced as a more economical PVC figure, which would be awesome!
?
And what’s an anime toy and hobby show without cosplayers???Some were even hosting the tables and booths.? I found this photo kinda cool and yet?very disturbing at the same time.

If I could get a chance to visit Wonderfest in the flesh just once in my life, I could die a happy man.

For a second there I thought the mech was Maddox01.
The Maddox OVA came out in 1987 and the anime version of Starship Troopers was released in 1988. It’s highly probably that the Starship Troopers mecha designers’ primary influence was the Maddox-01 suit.
The Maddox was a pretty cool suit design, one of the more realistic designs in anime at that time. Too bad the model kits for the suit are extremely, extremely rare.
